Reiki Healing
Welcome to the world of Reiki!
Many people discover Reiki as they journey along a path of healing and spiritual growth, seeking a way to connect deeper with themselves and the natural world.
During a Reiki session, while laying or sitting down, you are gently supported to relax and allow the spiritual energy flowing from the practitioner to you.
The practitioner does not manipulate or direct energy, but rather allows Reiki to flow through their hands and travel where it is naturally guided to go within your body and energy field.
The Reiki energy coming from the practitioner’s hands connects with the energy within your own body, and supports you to feel it, nourish it, and allow it to flow more harmoniously.
As Reiki moves, it energizes and balances the body meridians, organs, and energy centers (chakras).
Note: Sessions are always conducted with the client fully clothed. Depending on the preference of the client, the practitioner places their hands either with or without physically contacting the body. Hands are never placed directly on the breasts or genital area.
What exactly is Reiki?
Reiki 霊気 refers to the modern system of spiritual practice and hands-on healing that was developed in Japan by Mikao Usui (1865-1926).
Reiki is also the word used to refer to the spiritual energy that flows during a hands-on Reiki session. This energy is natural, and already animates all living things. Many people refer to Reiki as “universal life force energy” or “Source/God energy.”
In terms of practice, Reiki is a system developed in Japan that empowers us to guide that energy intentionally, for healing and spiritual development.
Reiki sessions are offered by those who have been trained in Reiki, and have been attuned to this spiritual energy by a Reiki Master teacher.
Note: To understand more about “attunement”, consider exploring the tradition of spiritual empowerment or dharma transmission in the Chan/Zen and Tibetan Buddhist traditions.
People who experience the benefits of Reiki are often inspired to learn Reiki themselves, both for self-healing and to support he healing of others. (I also teach Reiki, and would love to support you on this path.)
Who is Reiki for?
Anyone seeking deep relaxation and relief from stress or anxiety
Anyone on the path of spiritual growth and intuition development
Anyone seeking to relieve physical pain and tension in the body
Anyone recovering from acute injuries or dealing with chronic pain
Anyone who is highly sensitive and seeks support to balance their energy system (chakras) and literally “lighten up”
Benefits of Reiki
Most clients who experience Reiki with me leave feeling relaxed and rejuvenated, mentally clear and grounded, and more spiritually connected. People dealing with physical conditions (like recovery from surgery) may experience temporary relief from pain and discomfort, and intuitive guidance on how to support their healing.
Since the body and mind are inter-connected, as Reiki supports the active mind to settle down, physical tension in the body is released and a more relaxed and open flow state is experienced.
As the parasympathetic nervous system is activated in this relaxed state, cellular resources are able to go where the body needs them the most. In this way, Reiki helps naturally boost your immune system’s functioning.

Yes, Reiki is one of the safest and most gentle energy healing modalities available. It is a non-manipulative, non-invasive, and non-diagnostic practice. There are no contraindications to Reiki, which is why Reiki has been offered in hospitals including Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Cente, New York-Presbyterian, and Mount Sinai.

I recommend those new to Reiki have 3 sessions over the course of 3-6 weeks. This frequency maximizes the healing and energetic benefits of Reiki and also supports the implementation of healthy changes (most clients experience heightened intuition during and after Reiki).
-
I study and practice Reiki in the Usui Reiki lineage, which is closest to the original system developed by Dr. Usui. This lineage is different from other kinds of Reiki such as Shamanic Reiki, Holy Fire Reiki, and Sekhem Reiki.
